The popular OpenFeint iOS social gaming platform is now available on Android. OpenFeint allows developers to add “social networking aspects” into their games, with minimal programming. You can add friends, see what they are playing, view leaderboards and participate in forums or live chat. (Launch titles list after the break)
The OpenFeint network was launched on the iPhone platform in February 2009 and now has more than 37 million users and 3,000 Apple app store applications that use the platform. It’s unknown what effect if any the introduction of Apple’s Game Center will have on the OpenFeint network on iOS.
As an Android advocate, it’s gratifying to see the progression and the continued migration of major applications to the platform as the Android expansion continues.
