HTC has an excellent reputation as one of the leading smartphone manufacturers. HTC, which reportedly ranks fourth in worldwide phone shipments, is known for producing quality handsets. Four out of the five best selling Android handsets in the market are manufactured by HTC.

According to the Council of Economic Advisors (CEA), “Consumer electronics will once again be the hottest gifts, both to give and to receive, this holiday season.”
A recent CEA’s Holiday Purchase Patterns Study indicates that almost one-third of the holiday gift-spending budget this year will go to consumer electronics. Jesse Becker Marketing VP for Netflix announced across the board price increases for all Netflix monthly plans, along with officially launching a new $7.99 video steaming only plan. “The price increase will allow us to continue to offer the popular plan choice of unlimited TV episodes and movies streaming instantly along with unlimited DVDs.”

Back in July, I wrote about what was then a new RSS newsreader for the iPad from Alphonso Labs called Pulse ( http://bit.ly/bTbAog ). The app, developed by Standford University Institue of Design graduate students Akshay Kothari and Ankit Gupta, imports your RSS feeds to create a finger-friendly custom page of your favorite news sites and blogs. The Pulse app also enables you to easily import your Google Reader RSS feeds by logging into your Google Account from within the application.

There has been a lot of speculation and misinformation about how Windows Phone 7 (WP7) handsets use SD card memory to expand system memory. According to a recent Microsoft support document WP7 treats SD card memory as a permanent integrated component of your phone and not as removable expandable storage.

The talented group at XDA must not be getting much sleep lately. Android developer and XDA forum member RyanZa has developed z4root. The z4root app features a one button root/unroot solution without having to tether your handset to a PC.

According to a recent report by MacStories, Apple is set to release an update to iTunes and OS X today and the long-awaited update for the iPad and other iOS devices to V4.2 on Friday. Let’s hope their AT&T sources are correct, personally I can’t wait to take my iPad to the next level

Microsoft debuted its new Windows Phone 7 (WP7) smartphone platform yesterday. Microsoft hardware launch partners Dell, HTC, LG and Samsung announced the first 10 phones to support the platform. The initial WP7 took place in Europe and Asia in October and Microsoft officials stated they now have a commitment from “60 mobile operators in over 30 countries worldwide.”
