Canalys published its fourth-quarter smartphone market data report which revealed that Google’s Android has become the leading global smartphone platform. Canalys data showed that Google had shipped 33.3 million units in Q4 2010 growing at an impressive 615% rate for the quarter.

Troubleshooting support page for Windows Phone 7 update goes live

Tegra Product 2011 Roadmap leaked, indicates quad-core chips by fall of 2011

Nvidia’s 2011 Tegra roadmap has been leaked ahead of a formal announcement by Nvidia at Mobile World Congress. Two very interesting revelations are a 1.2 ghz dual-core A9 processor capable of powering a 3D display scheduled for 1st quarter release and Tegra 3, quad-core A9 processor, supporting Blue-ray video with a 1920×1200 display slated for the 4th quarter.

T-Mobile Froyo update not OTA but via Samsung Kies mini software (available now)

The Samsung Vibrant update that was announced by T-Mobile’s chief marketing officer Cole Brodman on January 20 was reportedly to begin rolling out on January 21. Brodman had previously stated that ” The upgrade will come in waves, so not all Vibrant owners will receive it on the first day”, implying an OTA update.  Download links after the break.
