Traffic congestion is usually not a major concern on my daily commute, but now Google Maps navigation will automatically route me around traffic whenever the need arises.
Starting today the Google Maps Navigation algorithms will apply current and historical traffic information to help guide you along the best route depending on the
current traffic conditions.
This not only saves you time and fuel but helps ease congestion for everyone else by helping avoid routing additional traffic to existing traffic jams. Look forward to testing its effectiveness when travelling in a major metropolitan area.
The additional traffic routing features are currently available in North America and Europe.
