After buying my Macbook Air, I wanted to protect it from scratches and 
scuffs when it was being used outside of my travel bag. I debated picking up a clear vinyl skin protector but decided against that because of previous installation issues I’ve had with vinyl skin products.
After doing some searching online I ran across a listing for a snap-on hard case offered by Listen Up on Amazon.
The hard plastic case which comes in a variety of colors was shipped in an unpadded plastic envelope and surprisingly survived the shipping process unscathed. Hopefully, that speaks to the products durability. The case comes shrink wrapped in two large pieces (top/bottom). The pieces have a nice fit and finish with full access to all of the ports (see photos below). The top piece has a center cutout for the Apple logo. The bottom piece is vented and has 4 large rubber feet to prevent slipping.
One caveat on installation, the top part of the case fits and will snap on in either orientation. It’s not until you see that the apple logo is slightly off center in the cutout that you will notice that the cover is installed upside down. So check the orientation carefully before snapping the cover down. Once you snap the tabs of the cover in place the case will be securely fastened. I had to use a plastic pry tool to remove it without damaging the case or the laptop. As thin as the lid on the Macbook Air is, you have to be extra careful not to flex it when removing the cover.
Unlike problems reported with similar cases the crystal hard case does not interfere with the operation of the hinges. You can fully open/close the cover without any problems.
This case is for the latest generation 13″ Macbook Air A1369 only. Turn the Macbook Air upside down and check the Model No. on the back before ordering. The crystal hard case is also available for other laptop models. Check the listing and laptop model numbers carefully before ordering.
The case comes bundled with a soft-touch silicone keyboard cover in a matching color. The cover fits well, is easy to install and doesn’t impede typing. Unfortunately the silicon cover blocks the light from the backlit keyboard.
