Dropbox offering additional free storage, for referrals!

by George Heymann | @techeadlines

technology-headlines.com

Dropbox has been one of our most used Android apps, it was selected as a must have Android app by us in the past.

Dropbox is a cloud based file storage, sharing and syncing service. It allows you to access your files stored within your virtual Dropbox from any other device (PC, Mac, Phone etc…) that has the software installed. Great way to share files across devices and platforms. I use this software daily to share files between various devices without the need to carry flash drives or disks.

Dropbox is now offering to expand your free storage up to 16GB. You can take advantage this offer by inviting your friends to Dropbox! For every friend who joins and installs Dropbox, they’ll give you both 500 MB of bonus space.

If you don’t currently have a Dropbox account  start here, once you sign-up for service you can invite your friends with your personal referral links, email, or by utilizing Facebook and Twitter.

Opinion: The problem with Angry Birds Space for Android? It’s still Angry Birds.

by George Heymann |@techeadlines

technology-headlines.com

At the risk of offending Angry Birds fans, Rovio has long since jumped the shark in my estimation with installment after installment of  the Angry Birds franchise. The latest release of the hugely popular franchise Angry Birds Space has the birds chasing a giant claw through a wormhole after it kidnaps their eggs.

The birds find themselves floating in a galaxy surrounded by space pigs. If it sounds ridiculous, it’s only because it is! Angry Birds Space  features 60 interstellar levels on planets and in zero gravity. The game also offers slow-motion puzzles, new birds, new superpowers and zero gravity environments.

I must admit I didn’t play the latest installment long enough to experience all of the new gameplay elements. Although having to alter bird launch trajectories to factor for planet gravity or lack of gravity in space did add to the challenge.

Another new Droid device, Nokia Lumia 900 up for preorder in Canada and Switzerland, Samsung Galaxy Beam re-released.

Smartphone Briefs

A new Motorola Android phone has surfaced and we can agree that this is a work of art. The Droid Fighter as it is being called is a 4.6 inch beast.

Reports are surfacing that the Verizon bound Droid Fighter will feature a HD Display and will run on Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich. Something that has been stressed by Motorola has been improved battery life for its upcoming devices. This is pure speculation but we could see a similar battery to that of the Droid RAZR MAXX. We can expect for an official announcement from both Verizon and Motorola in the coming weeks.
