Photobooth for Android by ClarkLab lets you combine several photos into a single file for easy sharing

When we hear the words ‘photo booth’ we have been condition to expect a countdown 3…2..1, followed by a flurry of snapshots. Photobooth by ClarkLab is a conundrum in that it is simultaneously both more and less than what you expect.

The free Android utility allows you to combine gallery photos or capture new images directly from the camera to create a custom photo strip ready to share quickly and easily. You can choose from vertical or horizontal layouts, arrange your photos in ascending, descending, or random order on your strips, than export your strips in various sizes S,M, L (XL coming soon) ready to share with your selected social network.

CobraTag your items with a trackable Bluetooth tag

A Cobra Tag is a compact rechargeable bluetooth sensor approximately 2.5”L x 1”W x .5”D that pairs with your smartphone to prevent you from losing keys, purse, computer bag, or any other item you want to protect from loss. The sensor communicates with an app currently available for Android and Blackberry that will remind you with an audible alarm if you leave your phone or other item behind.

The Cobra Tag also acts like a two-way finder, tap the button on your Cobra Tag to ring your phone or conversely use the phone app to make the tag ring to help locate your other items.

Quick Look: D30 band case, high impact protection for your smartphone

D30 cases for sensitive electronics are being introduced by a number of manufacturers. D30 is an innovative material that in its normal state is soft and pliable, but when exposed to shock the molecules lock together to absorb and disperse energy before almost instantly returning to its flexible state.

The materials ability to function as an shock absorber make it ideal for applications like smartphone cases. After doing some research on D30, see our story ‘D30, science fiction meets reality!‘, I decided to pick up D30 Band case for my smartphone from T-Mobile.

The case looks similar to an Apple bumper cases for the iPhone 4, a simple rubber band encircles the phone with the customary cutouts for access to headphone jack, usb ports etc… The configuration varies to match the smartphone it is designed for.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos had four new product announcements today including the rumored and highly anticipated color Android tablet the Kindle Fire.

The Kindle Fire will feature a TI Omap4 dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, 7-inch ultra-wide Gorilla Glass multi-touch IPS display (better viewing angles) with 1024×600 resolution, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a pair of top-mounted stereo speakers for $199. The physical dimension of the tablet are 7.5×4.7x.45, weighs less than a pound (14.6 oz) and will support Flash. The Fire, like first generation iPads will not include a camera.

Amazons plans for the new Kindle Fire tablet are far more ambitious than than previous generation e-book readers. The Fire will incorporate all of Amazons web services, Amazon Kindle, Amazon Instant Video, Amazon MP3, The Amazon App Store as well as Amazon Prime.

Review: SPB Shell 3D home screen replacement for Android

SPB Shell 3D is based on the SPB Mobile Shell product line for Windows Mobile and Symbian.

My first impression of the interface is that it’s very fluid and intuitive. I was able to navigate the interface add apps, widgets as well as adding, deleting and re-ordering screens within the first few minutes of use. The UI is beautiful to look at and has a visceral quality that makes it hard to put down.
