Google has rebranded the Android Market as Google Play. Google Play is the new integrated home for apps, books, movies and music accessible on Android device or on the Web. As part of the launch, Google Play replaces and extends the Android Market.

Google Play is built on the same infrastructure as Android Market according to a post by Kenneth Lui, Android Developer Ecosystem on Android Developers.

T-Mobile pushing out HTC Sensation 4G update

T-mobile has released a new software update updating the firmware version to 1.50.531.31. The update includes several features and improvements. According to the most recent change log the update includes:

 New Features

  • Software stability
  • Improved battery life

Improvements

  • Improvements to Trace dictionary
  • Screen  unresponsiveness resolved
  • Device taking screen shots resolved
  • Lock screen shifted up resolved
  • Icon pixilation  resolved
  • Improved Wi-Fi  connection
  • Green lines on  photo resolved

If you don’t want to wait for the OTA update notification you can check for the update manually. From the home screen, press the menu key, then about phone, select the HTC software update then ‘check’. Follow the on-screen prompts, the phone will verify the download then flash the new firmware. Wait for the update to complete and your phone will restart after the updates to Android 2.3.4 /software version 1.50.531.1 are installed.

I haven’t noticed any appreciable difference in performance since installing the latest update.

Review: Dell Streak 7 Tablet

There is a lot to like about Dell’s 7-inch WiFi Android tablet. The Dell Streak 7 is a good performer: it packs an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and 16 GB of Internal Storage with support for up 32GB of additional storage via its memory card slot. It also features 5MP rear camera with flash as well as a 1.3 MP front-facing camera for video chatting. The tablet also includes Wifi 802.11 b/g/n and supports Bluetooth 2.1. At $399, it is relatively inexpensive.

Initial impressions of Gingerbread (Android 2.3)
